Maverick
That's precisely the rule of thumb I was going to suggest (I was in a bit of a hurry when posting earlier on this subject). It's fine if you want to act all offended about being voted for in this thread, just don't do it elsewhere on the board.
Arutha
NO EDITS! Double post a correction if you really have to. Remember also that most people don't have perfect spelling or grammar, so everyone's going to give a bit of leeway for those sorts of mistakes (we tend to on message boards anyway). In this case, I knew what you were talking about without you correcting it, so it's not as bad as you think.
Quick count:
Griffey (3): nonbeliever, jacopo7531, Arutha nonbeliever (1): Griffey
Yet to vote: ck, Sherv, Mistwalker
Required to lynch: 4 votes.

I'm going to switch things up on the fly here, because we've been having some really fast lynches. Some people haven't even had the chance to log on and see the thread yet. So, the count's below. I'm going to give 24 hours after the lynching vote gets cast before calling the vote from now on. That will give the votee a chance to plead his/her case, and hopefully will help give everyone a chance to actually participate. (Let it be known that I did hesitate quite a bit before calling the first vote after the final lynching vote was cast -- 26 hours, in fact, since the lynching total was first reached. So I'm not being inconsistent, I'm just changing this to an official policy.)
Current count: Griffey (4): nonbeliever, jacopo7531, Arutha, ck nonbeliever (1): Griffey
Yet to vote: Sherv, Mistwalker

Aggh, I feel the noose tightening around my neck... Citizens of Anonyma, I urge you to reconsider!! I understand the only way you will know for sure is when I am six feet underground, but I am not a Mafia member! Please realize that once the next person is dead, the Mafia will kill off another innocent, making the number of non-Mafia death count up to FIVE. Don't help carry out their goals. Of course, if you'd rather take your chances...

NEWSFLASH: Novelist Lynched in Town Square Today, in full view of the public, a traumatized novelist was hung in the town gallows. Griffey, age too old to fit on this page, was executed by a bunch of angry people, including nonbeliever, jacopo7531, Arutha, and ck yesterday and was duly hung this morning. Everyone was reported to have turned out for the hanging. A few families even brought picnics.
"Well, it's kind of gruesome, but the kids seem to enjoy it, and it was a nice day out today," one townsperson, who wished to remain anonymous, commented.
Griffey was accused of being a mafia member earlier that day (or so) and was brought by an angry, cursing mob to the gallows. The author, completely overwhelmed the entire time, was reported as "blubbering incoherently" and "asking if we were taking her to Starbucks" by several participants in the mob. Everything else said by the mob to this reporter was mostly words that had been censored by Iboards and were now free usage, but not appropriate for this newspaper.
As the noose was tightened around Griffey's neck, her last words were said to have been, "I may be dead, but my work will live on forever! And if my idiot secretary gets around to publishing my will, you'll all be sorry! Because you're not in it!"
This obviously put a dampening on the festivities, but after the hanging there was much merriment.
Unfortunatley, one of Griffey's employees who had a security camera set up in her house came by later and reported that Griffey was, in fact, completely innocent of all these crimes she had been accused of.
"I don't see how she could have been in the mafia," the bewildered employee, wishing only to be known as "Rios", confessed in front of the public. "All she did was sit at that desk...all the time...writing...it was so boring to watch. But I swear, not once in a week did she leave that desk, except to hassle me, and I definatley saw that part. She was just an ordinary townsperson with a serious problem with OCD."
This news was enough to get most of the unruly mob to say, "Oh..." and head home quietly.
The will was opened later that day, also in public, to divide out her posessions. To the dismay of everyone attending, most of the writer's stuff went to either her dog, her neighbor's dog, or a fund called, "Novelists, Poets, and Other Writers with Multiple Personality Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Association of Antarctica" or NPOWMPDOCDAA for short.
This reporter also witnessed a short riot over who qualified as "her neighbor" but the dispute was settled quickly, as no one seemed to live all that close to Griffey anyway. Rumors abound that there will be a large rush of people attempting to change their name to "My Neighbor's Dog" but we cannot validate them at this time.

Wow. Some of the satire in that death scene was Onion-worthy. I am impressed. It's night now. Night roles will have until midnight EST on Wednesday, November 19 to IM me their picks.

[haunt] Well most of my other fellow dead have dropped by at least once so I figured I'd say something before any thread discussion begins again, even if I don't really have anything to say... Thanks for the compliment, Yaw, I am truly honored. I was feeling rather cynical that day And as for anyone who saw my screenname change to "Griffey's ghost," I figured out I could change it while uploading my new avatar, thought it would be funny, and, eh, it aint working for me. Well, that's it for me. Now I'm-a movin on up...to the east side...to a deluxe apartment in the sky...[/haunt]

I have all the night roles in, so we may as well get started. Day 3 will begin with one death. The deceased has been IMed, and should post his/her death scene, and associated role in here as soon as they can.
One additional note. I have confirmation now that Sherv will not be playing. He is being replaced with AuntieSocial. Since AuntieSocial was a townsperson the first time around, it gives her no unfair advantages. This should not be read as implying anything about Sherv's role.
