It worked for me. The image was a bit fuzzy, but I got the idea of your new design. It looked okay to me, but I couldn't make out the text on the white. I realize this is because the link is a screen shot tho ... As a thought, do you need to remove the dark background altogehter? I understand that you want to diminish the stereotypes associated with atheism, but maybe the black could be replaced by another, equally dark (for readablility), colour. BLUEGREEN- healing and nature (this is why green is often used in prnt advertising for health products, medications and environmental products)
- "go", proceed
- To the Scots, it means honour.
- invites reflection, analysis, growth, movement, balance, moderate, wealth, refreshing
- Green is the middle ground on the 'emotional scale ... midway between the fiery red and the colder blues/violets. It is the middle colour on the rainbow.

I would really like this to be a more light color website not black and white!!!!! I agree that more colour would be beneficial, but I think that we should avoid a light colour scheme as it is harder on the eyes. Maybe a darker banner/border scheme would work with a beige or cream background. This will help alleviate some of the problems associated with white (I used a peachy background with coloured text that matches my border on my website). I think that once a colour palette is selected, those colours should be repeated throughout the website, even if they don't appear in the same manner on each page.

I've taken the screenshot and put it on a webpage. GeoCities does not allow remote image hosting for its free accounts. Click here to view screenshots of the potential color schemes for the new design.I've added a second screenshot with a darkened gray background color (the gray of this message board). For some reason, I prefer the second one to the first because it seems to lessen the brightness of the page overall. At the same time, though, it concentrates the brightness of the white to the middle of the page. AuntieSocialNo, I don't need to remove dark colors altogether. But I want to remove enough of it so that it doesn't dominate the entire page. Also, the colors you mentioned are not equally dark as black. But I do understand that you a driving at a darker color scheme. Continue posting your comments. I'll be watching this thread closely and taking all of your suggestions into consideration.

Also, the colors you mentioned are not equally dark as black. But I do understand that you a driving at a darker color scheme. The colours I posted above aren't exactly what I had in mind ... the board has limited pantones. I was thinking of someothing along the lines of a Navy Blue or a Hunter or Forest Green. The more I think about it, though, the more I like the idea of having Banners, Borders and Text incorporting the darker tones with an off-white background. Something less harsh than white ... maybe a soft grey (to incorporate the board colours).

No soft grey for me. I like this colour, but if you don't, please make it a dark green or a dark blue. As others have pointed out, it's easier to read.

Just to be sure there is no misunderstandings ... we are talking about the colours for the Atheists Anonymous website, not the message board. Currently, the prominant colour on the site is black.

I like the set-up but the all white back ground is a bit much. I like auntie's idea with the off white and dark banners. I think green would be the best for the message we are doing, of course down side is green is associated with jealosy which could be taken wrongly.

AuntieSocialI knew what you were referring to but I still don't see how any color can be equally as dark as black (which is the darkest). BaalShemRaTo confirm what AuntieSocial stated above, we are talking about the color scheme of the new website. I am not planning on changing the color scheme of the message board in any major way. (I may decide to change the yellow to fit in with whatever color I eventually go with for the website. But the black/gray contrast of this message board won't change.) I added two more screenshots to the layout webpage I posted earlier today. In the last two screenshots, I didn't take the time to update the images (the "Atheists Anonymous" header or the sub-heads at the bottom). Any white in the last two screenshots would change to match the inner color scheme.
