BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU CHEW, MAV.I'm one of what I suppose is a somewhat rare breed, a conservative atheist. A while back, well before writing The Rough English Equivalent, the first of three books about the adventures of the reluctant atheist rogue, Jack Mason, I quit college and took off for Pensacola to cast my lot with Naval Aviation. Saw a nice chunk of the world as a Naval Flight Officer with the Hurricane Hunters and the Military Air Transport Service. Never fired a shot in anger, but sniffed strong Commie spoor during the Cuban Crisis and in the ever-fragrant Congo. After that, the pesky last year of college, graduate school, a tad of corporate strife in New York, and a Big Apple bailout about half an hour before my liver morphed into a bookend. Now my battered skidlid hangs by the banks of the Chattahoochee, where I indulge the tendency to overrev my ol' Suzuki, sail now and then, shoot a rapid or two and generally operate at the limit of public tolerance. If you're ordering, mine's an arid Stoli Gibson, up.

Welcome CCWriter. I promise, I'll only chew on you for a little while.
;D
I am glad to see that a conservative atheist has joined the board. I like seeing varying perspectives join in the discussion here. It keeps the threads interesting and lively. I look forward to reading your posts here. Put your feet up and make yourself at home.
Where are the banks of the Chattahoochee?

Good to be aboard! The Chattahoochee's one of Georgia's principal rivers, and runs through Atlanta. It's my good fortune to look out my window and watch it roll by. So chew away, Mav; as a survivor of the US Naval School of Preflight, I've been chewed upon by experts, i.e. USMC DIs (Remember An Officer and a Gentleman?). Best Stan

Greetings & Salutations, CCWriter. Welcome to the board.
If you need anything, or have any questions, please PM Maverick, Yaw or myself. We'll be happy to assist.
Don't worry about Mav ... he's more a nibbler than a chewer anyway ... the teeth marks fade in no time.

Ahoy, Postlibyan- Excuse my tardiness- hadn't thought to check into this part of the forum for awhile. Also further battered my skidlid against the side of a Volvo, and have been busy squeezing a settlement out of the liable party's insurer. How's tricks in Mayretta? CCW
