We don't hear about the misses, only the hits. The misses are quickly dismissed and forgotten, but the hits are viewed as something more important than they really are. Good post, just to add: "probability" is one of the least understood disciplines in math, or at least one that keeps people in a high state of denial. Proof? Las Vegas.

I just wanted to share with you some of the experiences that have lead me to believe that there is a God. .... What do you guys think? Well first off, thanks for going through the trouble to at least give us some first-hand information. Now... I am assuming you prayed through Jesus Christ, got a result, and so forth. Can you detail the criteria (if this is too summarized) that led you to believe in God through healing? Is the criteria Biblically based (i.e. God provides healing to prove His existence), or are you correlating cause and effect? Finally are you willing to concede that other gods or forces exist if they meet an equivalent criteria (Hindu healing, etc.)?

Hello eventhen, You can read about experiences like that everyday. Some are true some are not. Sometime it’s just a temporary fix. Like when people go see a faith healer. I don’t have an answer because I wasn’t there. But I will share my experiences with you. I am alive and I should not be. The fact that I am talking to you is great. I’m not dead. But I do not chalk it up to a god. When I was in the 5th grade I went into the hospital for 6 weeks for intestinal blockage. They were able to treat it without surgery but I still suffer with it to this day. I remember the pain. When it hit me it felt like I was ran through with a sword. I felt the pain from my belly button all the way through to my spine. I got through that. Although then I did believe in the lord then I was just 10 or so and I was believing what I was told to believe. But I can’t really recall paying for healing. I’m sure others did. A few years latter when I did convert to my atheistic way of thinking. I almost over dosed on some pep pills. We called them “white crosses” because of the x on the white little pill. It wakes you up. A friend and I split a bottle of 100 pills. I took all 50. I wanted to die when I came down from that buzz. I don’t know why I didn’t, I didn’t seek medical help. I just stayed on my bed and rode it out. I hurt all over. But I never prayed to god. About 3 years ago my left lung collapsed. On Christmas day I might add. That is one hell of a present. But again I did not die. I don’t know how life threatening that is but I was again going through a world of pain. I sure didn’t pray then. One last time I should have died my wife and I hit a cow on the road late at night going to work. I didn’t get hurt and my wife only needed 3 stitches in a finger. We were in a compact car. A little geo metro, if you know what that is. But I don’t feel god helped me through any of that. I just simply did not die. While I have some family members who are in church, they had a baby die on them. They said that god wanted he child back with him. I always thought if we are here for a purpose then why did the baby die? It hasn’t fulfilled any purpose in life. It died before it turned 2. but yet god wanted him in heaven with him, they say. I guess it’s a nice way of thinking about it but that leaves me with more questions than answers. We all have experiences that can not be explained away it doesn’t mean that there is a god. Everything I has happened to me, each one of them has killed someone else. But yet I have survived all of them so far. Why? Does god have a plain for me? Does he need me here to tell other people that there is no god? Is that his plain for me? Because that is what I’m going to do. I’m not chalking anything up to god that has happened in my life. I can not do that. I lived through a bunch of things that have killed others while god takes a 15 month old away from a family who does believe in him because he has a plain for us all? I think not.

many people have miraculous recoveries. i have been terribly sick, puking, headache, nausia, cramps, pains... and i fell asleep, woke up 5 hours later, and i was 110% better!
now with these miracle cures, if you want something bad enough you will get it. it is all psychological. your mind is made up of energy, and if there is a problem with a physical part of your body, and you want it repaired bad enough, the energy can help to heal you. try to explain people bending spoons or moving objects with their minds... you think that is god helping them? i dont think so... it is all mind and matter we are talking about here. i think that by that positive praying you guys did helped to cure those people (not because of a god) but because of the positive energy being emitted. (that is how you bend spoons, usually in a group full of kids that have positive energy and have innocent minds that think clearly, because kids believe almost anything, and if you can get them to THINK the spoon will actually bend, it indeed will)
now this should answer your question without any holes or doubts.

It doesn't. I have countless experiences that prove to me God's existance. But then, you're right, I'm wrong, so I guess I should just keep my mouth shut, right?

EvenThen, what about the countless events that are counter to his existence?

Assuming that I believe that there are events that are counter to God's existence.

I have a question for you. How many spoons have you seen bent? How many spoons have you yourself bent with your mind? You say you believe in all of this energy hocus pocus...did it ever occur to you that what you are talking about is, in fact God and Satan? There are two beings, for lack of a better word, God, the light side, and Satan, the dark side. Just like Star Wars, haha. And now, for my favorite of all questions(they are rhetorical). Do you know everything? Do you even know half of everything? Lets pretend you do know half of everything. Is it possible God exists in the half of everything you don't know? Same applies to me about the absence of God of course, but im not claiming anyone else to be wrong. All I can say is what I know to be correct.

where is your proof that god exists.
THERE IS NO PROOF THAT ANY OF US ARE CORRECT IN YOUR BELEIFS... but they are just thoughts and theories... so who really gives a rats ass? it seems like you are protecting something that isnt there, you are merely wasting your time. stop trying to contradict science by saying it is all god's doing. just because the wind blows doesnt mean god did that... just because there are waves in the ocean god does mean god did that either... there are logical explainations for almost anything that goes on around earth... please give me at least one GOOD example of something science can not explain, and something that is logical and down-to-earth.
