I have added the Atheist Meetup dates for the next three months to the calendar.
Maverick, how do you want to deal with the caledar? What sort of entries should be made? Etc, etc ...

AuntieSocial is referring to the Atheist Meet-Up. Check their website to see if there's one in your area. It's an organized event where atheists in your community get together to meet one another and chat. In real life, not on a message board.

ck, we have a young man who attends our meetups in Toronto who is still in the closet. They are held in coffee shops, usually.
If you look at the calendar entry, I have provided a link to the Meetup site (they also have other meetups available)

That you're going to meet friends? That you're going to a coffee shop? There are ways of making wherever you're going sound innocuous while still telling the truth.

Meetup locations vary based upon the location of people in an area. Also, some Atheist Meetups are held on days other than the third Tuesday of every month if another day better accomodates more people in a given area.
As far as the calander is concerned, I'm going to be pretty lenient on the type of entries posted. As long as you distinguish between real life events (ex: meetups, protests, etc) and online events (scheduled chats, mafia game deadlines, etc), anything is game.
Also, I prefer that the type of entries posted relate only to atheist-related material or material related to this message board & our chat room.
It has been a while since we've sceduled specific chat topics. If there is interest in starting that up again, feel free to use the calander for that as well.

Check the website. If there's a meetup in your area, it'll probably be registered there. After all, they do want people to know about it...

I encourage that our members actively use our calendar. It is a great resource to have and I wouldn't want to see it wasted.
