If Satan were real and american and the only one running against Bush... What makes you think they're two different people? (OK, so it's hitting below the belt, but I couldn't resist).

My views (conservative atheist libertarian)
1. Government's Role:
a. keep us from killing each other b. keep outsiders from killing us. c. perserve our fundamental rights as U.S. citizens d. provide equal protection under the law e. do not over intrude in to the lives of itscitizens (It's not the government job to make life grand and wonderful. this is very personal pursuit. The government can't tell us what makes us happy. If it tries it will probably make a lot of people unhappy, so don't try it)
The President's Role:
1. When a Foreign threat arises, he should do what ever it takes to eliminate that threat. (totality of the circumstances... If the circumstances call for war for the long and short term benifit of the the country than that is what we should do, but it is impoart to be cautious and look at all alternatives.)
2. taxes and welfare:
a. some people are rich, some people are poor. That is the way it is, the way it will always be, the way it should be.(especially if you believe in eviloution and survival of the fitess.) It's the American way. Many people feel there is nothing some people can do to raise their social position. It's not easy, but no one's guaranteed an easy life. However, it can be done, if you keep trying, workharder than most, and be more creative than most.
b. Everyone who pays taxes should get a tax cut if one should be given. Just because you have more money, it doesn't mean you should have to pay a higher percent. That would not be equal treatment and it is not fair.
c. I refuse buy the "taxes are an investment" argument. for saying that taxes are a good thing. Taxes are an intrusion on our property rights, and frankily the democrats want to invest in way too many things that I either don't agree with, don't care about, or don't think its the government's job to do anything about.)
Iraq:
1. The war on Iraq was agressive on our part. Most people don't realize how desparate this country is in Post-911 time. We are now a cornered animal. A corner animal will lash out, and if we don't the terriost WILL close in for the kill. We needed to show our fangs. Saddam Hussien was there so we took action at that time. It was a good distraction I'm glad we went. We may have spent a little too much time there then we would have like, and soldiers died and are dying in the process, but if we can maintain an arabic ally in the middle east, it could mean victory against terrorism.
1. Bush lied, all politicians do it. We all should have suspected it (I did). At least he did it for the good of the country. At least he did it because he had a plan. So we couldn't find the weapons of mass destruction. They'll probably show up years from now when no one really cares. The war wasn't really about that anyways, any one with a brain should've known that.
2. Alienated our allies? I disagree. After 9-11 we found out who our real allies were. to make an argument that france and germany sided with saddam hussien merely because they didn't like Bush's attitude is insane. We are talking about the UN not high school! These countries have never liked us! The french really aren't into war, every time they've tried we've had to save them. The german may still be a little bitter about the the world wars, also the french are rubbing off on them.
I don't want a president who is going to ask permission from other countries in order to fight terrorism, as if we can't succeed on our own if need be. I want a president who is going to stand up and stay that we are going to fight terrorism now! who is with us?! and who is in our way?! That's pretty much what Bush has done.
1. liberals: they are liars just like all polititicians, but they are better at it, and feel less guilty about it.
The thing that make me sick about them is that they say that they are for the small guy, that thew want to end their suffering. This is a bald-face lie! Think about it. If a democrat succeed in ending all struggle in the counrty. If there were no "have-nots" struggling out there, then the liberals would have no platform. There would be no one to vote for them. If they educated the undereducated. Then they've served their purpose. Democrats want to people to suffer so they can get elected folks! the candidates aren' t the ones suffering! These are rich lawyers and entrepeneurs who speak in slick tongues and know how to move crowds brought up in culture whose primary voice is protest and outrage. democrats are pied-pipers.
Abortion: Its not legally murder but it should be. Any attempt to separate it from murder is merely rationalization, to cope with the guilt of doing something deep down people know is wrong.
Religion:
I'm Athesits, after weighing all the evidence, I believe ther is no God or gods, or any type of supernateral force. I still have many beliefs and principles. I believe I'm a good person. I believe everyone believes different things. I believe people should be judged by their beliefs as little as possible, because our believes are not something we control.
I'm at odds with my party in this area. I do feel alientated by them to some extent. But I am not going to betray my beliefs on all those other issues just for this one thing that I do not think is that big a deal. Atheists don't have that much of a voice in either party. I think that is because many are individualists like myself. However, I get tired of being judged and like to vent. so that is why I posted today.

I must say that in England people view with dismay some of the choices that the USA makes when choosing leaders.
Bush junior comes over as a very nice but dim type of character(i feel he's an ok guy) Bush senior was a bit better Ronny Reagan came over a bit like G.W.Bush jr.(heart in the right place but brain was not)
I suppose Bill Clinton was the darling of the masses over here and still is.
I should add that that's just my opinion as viewed from .BBC T.V. news

Well I can only speak of BBC World but it is very biased towards liberal viewpoints.
