Since this forum has been getting a bit cluttered with sign-up threads, we're going to use one thread for all Mafia sign-ups from now on. This one. Actually, I propose that we keep sign up threads seperate to avoid confusing past and future games. We can do that in a couple of ways. We can continue to update this thread and delete sign up posts from the previous game as soon as it starts. (Now, for example, we'd delete all the Mafia IV sign ups to make room for game five signups.) Or, new threads can be created and old signup threads deleted. What would everyone else prefer? Also, I propose that we start a new thread in this section to address general questions about how a Mafia game is played, discussion of new roles, etc. Perhaps we could even post the basic rules of a game in the opening post. Sound good?

I can see the logic (and cleanliness) in that proposal. I am in favour of starting new threads, as opposed to deleting the (now) irrelevant posts. I also like this proposal. This will give us an answer forum that is within our board and we can then add information/roles as they are added to our games. I would suggest that it be a sticky thread so it doesn't get lost in the forum. I would also suggest that the current game and sign-up for the next game also be stickies (if they aren't already). We could also have some of our more experienced players add some tips on strategy.

I have another suggestion that I'd like feedback on. Since old Mafia games are locked for reference, would it make sense to move these threads to another, special section (a type of past games archive)? That way, we can reserve this forum for active discussion about the game as well as place active games here while still keeping old games for reference.

Well, having one thread for signups works fine too. Doesn't matter much one way or the other.
I do agree that having a thread pinned as an intro to what's going on is a great idea.
There's no reason to archive old games elsewhere. This is a relatively small part of the forum in terms of threads, so there shouldn't be any problems with clutter in that sense.

I can see archiving as a viable option if the mafia games grow to the point where we have two or more happening simultaneously. At this point, I think that keeping them all together is a better option.
I'm open to either option with respect to the sign-up thread.

I'm open to either option with respect to the sign-up thread. Creating a new signup thread for each game would be easier from an administrative standpoint. If we were to constantly update one thread, one of us would have to delete every single post whereas entire threads can be deleted if we seperate them. Since there is no objection, I'll go ahead and delete old signup threads.

Seems like i may be a little late but i personally like the single thread for all sign ups, but that could be because i spend to much time on mafiascum.
Since I'm next to mod, Should I start a sign-up thread or at least wait till the currect game is closer to finshed?

Since I'm next to mod, Should I start a sign-up thread or at least wait till the currect game is closer to finshed? nonny, you should start whenever you feel like starting. I can see why you might want to start early (to recruit more players) but I can also see why you might want to start later (so the players that signed up are more likely to stay in the game). I trust that you can make a good decision about when to start signups for the next game. When you do, start a new thread for the sign ups. It is easier than deleting individual old posts. Someday, I'll get around to deleting the old sign up threads so they don't clutter this forum.

W_W. I wouldn't reccomend themed games here-- we're having a very hard time keeping players in these games. Themed games would only keep a few players out of the games, and perhaps confuse others.

This game looks interesting. Is it still active?
I would like to try playing, if possible.
