A while ago, I began to offer the Atheists Anonymous chat room as a resource to different atheistic websites. In an effort to increase our base of chatters and expand our chat room, I would like to extend this offer to the webmasters of atheist websites once again.
Building and sustaining an active chatroom is difficult. It takes a degree of effort that not everyone has to the time for. Though still active, our chat room has seen a decline in activity over the past couple of months. To my knowledge, our chat room is continuing to remain fairly active.
If you have an atheist, freethought, skeptic, etc, website and would like to offer your visitors a chat room -- become one of our chat room mirrors.
Chat room mirrors are websites that agree to place our java applet on one of their pages. By becoming a chat room mirror, you get the benefit of hosting a chat room that is already moderated and active. As a mirror, you are allowed to place our applet on your own webpage. This give you control over the content you want your visitors to see.
I only ask the following of chat room mirrors:
1.) Atheists Anonymous is responsible for the administration of the chat room. Our Network Policy and all HomelessIRC rules remain in effect for any chatters who access our channel (regardless of where they access it from).
2.) Mirrors must keep the following two lines underneath the applet for informational purposes:
If you have any questions or you are interested in becoming a chat room mirror, please reply to this thread or contact me here. For an example of a chat room mirror, visit the chat page on XaurreauX's website.
