Okay, okay ... a brief introduction ...
I originally came from my father, but went to be with my mother one hot, steamy night in July. Nine months later, I was born, and life has never been the same...
Oh a serious note ... I am an atheist and sit on the left-hand side of your fearless leader, Maverick. Hehehe.
I have been an atheist for a very loooong time. Looking back, with adult eyes, on my life, I have come to the conclusion that I never had faith, I never believed. I did, however, go to church and learn about Christianity from a Methodist spin ...
I have recently become interested in debating the question of a deity's existence with believers. This interest has lead to many wonderful discoveries, including this board, and has allowed me to meet many wonderful atheists, some of whom come to this board.
A (very) recent news/developments in my life, with respect to my journey of discovery (which to me IS life), is my decision to return to University to study philosophy and religion. I met with the Assoc. Dean at the Centre for the Study of Religion (CSR) at the University of Toronto on November 13, 2003. Through conversation with him, I was able to accomplish a few things:
The degree that I will be (immediately) pursuing is a Dual Specialty in Philosophy and Religion. My focus will be on epistemology and metaphysics (in the Philosophy specialty) and "Modern Religions Thought", anthropology, sociology and psychology of the 'western' religions.
My original introduction can be found here. It includes my ansers to the 4 icebreaker questions.

I met with the Assoc. Dean at the Centre for the Study of Religion (CSR) at the University of Toronto on November 13, 2003. Through conversation with him, I was able to accomplish a few things:
- obtain permission to 'switch majors'. I originally started university (at UofT) in 1991. As my major was Commerce, I cannot change majors to the arts/humanities without having approval from the Department Head. He approved me with the words, "The CSR would be more than happy to have you join us"
- determined what stream of study I wish to pursue in the broad realm of 'Religious Studies', I'll touch on that later
- determined that UofT is the correct University for me (i.e. can the CSR provide the tools and courses that will satisy the aspects of religion I wish to study?)
The degree that I will be (immediately) pursuing is a Dual Specialty in Philosophy and Religion. My focus will be on epistemology and metaphysics (in the Philosophy specialty) and "Modern Religions Thought", anthropology, sociology and psychology of the 'western' religions.
