It's been a while since I've been back so I just thought I'd go on the record as actually being here.
So what about me? I'm 20 years old and I like to study maths and physics. I have a place in my heart for the softer disciplines (history, philosophy, psychology, etc) even though I consider them to be a whole lot of flim-flammery.
I like classical music and jazz. Some rock, too (all genres). I like good art. None of that just throwing paint on a canvas crap for me. As far as I can tell Jackson Pollock and everyone he inspired are just a bunch of hacks. I also like good pipe tobacco, good cigars, and good liquor. All three are cornerstones of a long and healthy life.
These days I can't really tell when I became an atheist, but I have been a non-theist for as long as I can remember. I was raised in a non-religious home. Parents never said much about it one way or the other. I think I was born agnostic and moved my way up from there. I've been an atheist since at least my sophomore year of high school. About 5 years ago. I had the fortune of being good friends with a couple of intelligent chaps at school during that time. We bounced ideas off each other for a while and eventually came to the definite conclusion that given the evidence there's a low probability of God's existence, so we decided to not waste anymore of our time on the matter.
I've rethought the situation everytime new evidence has presented itself, but I've always come to the same conclusion.
Well, that's all I have to say for right now. See you on the boards.
