so, uh, hi everyone. i have been reading this site for several weeks now, and earlier today i saw something i actually wanted to reply to. then i got stuck in a meeting, and now, hours later, i have signed up but forgotten what i had read that picqued my interest.
such is life.
this is a very enteraining and lively bunch. i'll be around.

Hi Post.
I often hear people mention the "Irish" when they say they are/used to be Catholic. I also hear the same from Italians. Why? I never hear someone say "I'm/ grew up French/Spanish/Brasilian Catholic". Any idea why?

huh. i dunno BaalShemRa. it's just what my family has always said. i usppose ti gets back to some sort of ethnic rivalry during the immigration into the States.
however, towards the end of her life my the neightborhood my grandmother lived in had lots fo Polish immigrants, and i remember going to mass with her. being a Polish Catholic was slightly different than being an Irish Catholic. just a different ... atmosphere.
