Hi everyone. I suppose this is where everyone introduces themselves. I am but a humble atheist living in Boise Idaho with a bunch of religious nutcases. I'm looking forward to posting all kinds of atheist stuff on this board. I think I'll finish things off with my proof God doesn't exist. This "proof" isn't really as irrefutable as the topic says, in fact, it's full of a ton of holes. It' main purpose is to entertain. The proof:
The main problem with proving God does or does not exist is the fact that God is poorly defined. Two people with two different ideas of God will come up with two conflicting arguments for the existence of God. This proof attempts to define God in such a way most people would agree with. Then using that definition it proves such a God cannot exist.
To define God, four terms must first be defined; Creation, Destruction, True Creation and True Destruction. If one wishes to create a house using trees, the trees must be destroyed. Likewise, if one wishes to create a pile of rubble, the house must be destroyed. When something is created something else must be destroyed. This is creation and destruction.
True creation however is the creation of something from nothing, likewise, true destruction is the creation of nothing from something. For the purpose of this proof God is defined as the only being capable of true creation and true destruction. This is a definition agreed upon by many people.
In creation, to create a house a tree must exists, else, no house. To create a pile of rubble, the house must exists, else, no rubble. Same is found it true creation. To create something from nothing, nothing must exist. Therefore, the only way God could exist is if nothing exists. And if nothing exists what are we doing here?
Furthermore, if nothing exists and God still exists, then God is nothing.
