Hello William, While you look up all this please don’t tell me that god would give some people laws to go by and not others. If so then the 10 commandments doesn’t need to be followed because you’re not a Jew. No but I am a follower of Christ, He said, " love the Lord your God with all your heart mind and streangth and love your neigbor as yourself, in this all the commandments are fullfilled"( williams paraphrase) if you dont see the value in that thing about stoning the rebelious child, you must not have ever raised a teenager sorry my answerrs are so short , Ive been working extra hours and we are getting ready to go camping. I hope to be able to post more when we get back.

Your right about me, not raising a kid. I don’t have one and I don’t want a kid. But that is just me. the bible says to kill your rebellious child. Just for cursing you. You willing to do that? are you willing to kill your child you brought into this world just because he looks at you and says something bad that you don’t like?
I never said the bible doesn’t have some good points to it. it has some good things. but its full of many more bad things. at one time the bible will say to love someone then its says to kill them. it tells you to help the old but then it says to kill people that are not following god.
I do hope you follow up with this I would like to hear what you think.

I wonder, have you read the whole Bible? it seems as though you might not be familliar with the context that these laws were given in. they were given to a theocratic kingdom that had a specific purpose, to bring in the messia. opps wife is calling.

Have I read the bible? It was you that asked me to show you in the bible where it tells you to kill someone. I gave you not one but many places in the bible where it says to do so, from the new and old testament. I could ask you if you have read the bible. But I would like to hear how Leviticus has to do with bringing jesus into the earth. I hope you and your family have fun on your trip. When you get back I want a long post on what we are talking about.

Ok, Im back! we had a great time my 9 year old cought her first fish. Im not sure how long this will be but Ill try to answer your questions. No I really wouldnt stone my rebelious son, and I wonder how many sons actually rebelled, jews were to memorise the tora by the age of 12 or some age around that, so I would imagine that knowing that law was in there might have kept most kids in line. compare that to today when parrents are afraid to disipline their kids and the kids are out of control. Leviticus established the preisthood, a method of atonement for the people in mass. I wouldnt say that every part of every old testament book points forward to Christ or that that was its only purpose. I ask if you read the Bible in its entirety because it seems as tho you are pullin some things out of context. I can quote some bothersome sections of the korran, but I havent read the entire book, I have only read books about the korran, books that are criticle of it. so if in a discusion i listed those quotes, it would not be unfair for somone to ask if I had read the whole book if they thought the context of the quotes might make a difference how they are percieved. you didnt actualy answer the question about weather you have read the entire Bible. I have read the whole Bible and it did not leave me with the impression that I should kill any body.

Good for her. Is that your only child? Just asking. Glad you had a good time.
I’m glad to hear that you are more kind than god is when you say that you would not stone you son. But at the same time you are going against gods wishes. About the 12 year old kid and the tora, just because you hear a rule you do not always follow it. I don’t believe in god even with the threat of hell. even you said you would not stone your kid. We all break the laws that are given us. That is why I said the things that I did before. Do you think the jews would kill a son for talking back to them? I would hope not. but we all are going against god wishes. No one follows the bible anymore. People only pick and choose what parts to follow. If a part to too awful for them they just ignore it. {quote] I have read the whole Bible and it did not leave me with the impression that I should kill any body. [/quote] This is a sample of what I am talking about. you read the bible and walk away with “god loves me” I have read the bible and walk away with. “god hates us all” its just the parts you choose to remember or like. I have read the bible and you have read the bible. As I said. That is the problem of the bible. Two people can read the bible and come away with two different things. that is how you think that god is all loving and others will kill witches and Muslims. Did you read the part that tells you to kill people? Didn’t walk away with that did you? A lot of people have. That is now so many people die in this world.
