i stumbled accross this board, and after reading some of the threads i felt sick. You bash so many things christian, say bitter, sarcastic remarks and carry on. half of the responses ive seen to christian comments are immature, close minded statements. If you wanted to truely debate a topic, why not respond with questions that make people really think crtically. I came to the board hoping for good discussions, boy was I wrong. I dont disslike atheists, and i hope you like dont disslike me. It just seems like there is some hostile people on this board.

gear This is a vague, blanket statement and therefore is impossible to respond to. Criticism is fine, but if you don't refer to any statement specifically that is immature, bitter, sarcastic or unhelpful in general, the person that made the statement cannot apologize or further elaborate their position and why they made the statement. I simply don't believe that all of the statements made by every atheist on this board fall under the umbrella that you've set up here.
So I think that it would be useful for you to be more specific in your criticism. Then we can have a meaningful discussion about it.
Cheers, Dan

Also, I don't see any reason for anybody to dislike you because of criticism that you level at the board.

But, as jacopo7531 already said, your criticism of this board is vague. Please, quote some specific examples of the immaturity, close-mindedness, and hostility that you've seen on this board and indicate what threads they are posted in. We can't respond to your criticism of this board unless you actually point out what remarks you found to be inappropriate.

I'm going to have to disagree with you gear. My favourite part of this board is how open minded everyone is (theist and atheist).
btw: what posts are you referring to that made you feel sick?

I am suddenly sympathetic of a bumper sticker I saw yesterday: Lord, save me from Your followers.
The stereotypes that have been attribuated to Christians are created by the 2% of idiots that decide to shoot their mouths off without thinking about what they're saying, while the 98% of us that actually think before we speak don't speak at all. Go figure.

Where is this hostility?
I just found this place, too, and I don't see it...

I don't remember ever dispensing "hostility" in any debate.

I don't remember ever dispensing "hostility" in any debate. Is that available over the counter? Or does one need a prescription? I know I can be sarcastic at times. I am definately cynical and most assuredly skeptical, but hostile?!

...why not respond with questions that make people really think crtically? The majority of thoughtful, direct questions I have presented to specific theists have gone unanswered.

yes, theists can not answer our logical questions. they see no holes in our theories and can not support them with the bible because it is full of lies, and unanswered questions. they want to convert us into believing there is a god. if this is what they hope to accomplish they will fail misserably. Their debates are weak and they are just wasting their time.

That's ridiculous. Just because I can't articulate myself quite the way I want to does not mean there isn't a just as rational theistic response.
