If "god" is all powerful then he should be able to make a rock that is impossible to move correct?....or this "God" wouldn't be all powerful well he would be able to move this rock because he is all powerful therefore making it not unmovable ...Therefore making the idea of a "God" illogical

My favorite line from a movie. I forget what movie it was from. But it went like this. Can god microwave a taco so hot that he can not eat it?
It’s the childlike questions like this that tells me that god is not real. Most people will just push the question to the side. Much like the contradiction of an all knowing god and free will. You can not have both.

You can not have both. actualy there is no contradiction between an all knowing God and free will, the free will debate is about freewill verses a soverine God. I debate this with my sunday school teacher all the time thou recently he said I won when I brought a kitty litter cake to our dessert auction ( it is a cake that looks like a cat box with litle cat turds in it) he decided there must be free will because God wouldnt have had anything to do with something so discusting ;D.

I will offer an answer. just for fun! As we know from einstiens theory of general rellitivity mass distorts time. So if God made a rock for such a purpose He would make it with an infinate mass wich would infinatly distort time so even if He could lift it, He wouldnt have the time! ;D Go easy on me Squid, its only ment to be fun not really scientific.

In our current state of schooling requirements in the states I bet you could use that in a highschool physics class and everyone would agree with you...saying, "sounds good to me".

What do you mean by that?

What do you mean by that? What I mean is that the state of the science curriculum in many schools in the US is lacking. The US falls behind many countries in science. The scientific literacy of the populace is even worse, almost shameful. Were there not such a deficit there would not even be the continued debate on whether or not to teach evolutionary theory as valid in biology classes.

My 9 year old just scored in the top 5% in the nation for her basic skill assesment. He r grade equivelence averaged almost 7th grade! her language machanics and expression were at the 10th grade level! not bad for a third grader eh? homeschooling works!

what did i tell you. christans don't think about the easy contradictions that are right in front of them. if something is in the bible they don't like or somethign just doesn't fit, what do they do? just ignore it. silly to me, isn't it you?

In and of itself, no I don’t put a lot into it. But along with the other contradictions in the bible and the nature of god, I have to not believe. I have no other choice. You might can ignore one or two contradictions but I can not ignore all the contradictions in the bible. ( you can I just choose not to)

You are asuming that i have never looked into or or heard others inquire about and get answers to such "contradictions" there are radio programs on Christian radio stations and web sighjts dedicated to aswering these " contradictions". I have listened to hours and hours of the Bible Answer Man, so much that I have heard answers to many "contradictions" most are answers by historical context some are by understanding the geography and original locations of citys many are answerd by reading the passage in its correct context. but your assumption and the assuption of others on this sight that all Christians blindly ignore these "contradictions and follow our shepards like ignorant sheep is simply WRONG! I make no claim to be edducated or brilliant of mind. but I do read and try to learn about the world I live in and I really dont think that Im an idiot, but even if I am an idiot or you think Im an idiot, there are plenty of Christians that far surpase us both in intelect and edducation. I have given on other threads a link to a web sight that answers "contradictions" I would give it now but I lost it(computer melt down) . I would google it for you but wont waist my time if you arent going to go there for answers. there are some great debatable issues in the Bible, that we as Christians dissagree on and some I would love to debate with you. but the "where did cain get his wife?' and "can God make a rock so big...?" hardly make for an interesting discusion. It was his sister, in case your wondering.
