For general, unwanted pregnancies, if the woman hasn't decided to do it by the end of the first trimester then that's too bad. Now, if the pregnancy is due to rape or the like it should be extended. That's my very quick and very generalized view on it.

what about minors? parrental notification? Minors in our society basically don't have many rights, so in keeping with our system, I don't see why the parents shouldn't be notified. However, every situation is different. If the girl's parents found out and this would result in severe repurcussions from the parents (I'm not talking being grounded) then exceptions can be made. However tailoring legislature to allow for every instance is hard and inevitably some people will be hurt by the rules.

I also think that 3 months is enough time for the mother to make the decision.
As for parental notification, I am not against it. The way I see it, taking the chance of becoming pregnant is something that entails responsibility. If you aren't responsible enough to inform your parents, and after all you owe them until you leave them, you shouldn't be doing it in the first place. I suppose 15 or 16 is a good age, but everybody has different opinions.

But wouldnt most girls in that situation imagine a far worse reaction from their perrents than they actualy get? what I think would be messed up is for the girl to go through something that messes with their head so bad ,yet the perrents are cluelss to help them.

I wasn't making a generalization to all parents. What I was getting at was the "exceptions". I've worked with many families where a girl got pregnant by her boyfriend and was put in the hospital from the abuse received at the hands of her parents. This stuff happens more often then people want to realize.
