This is exactly the book that the scientific community has needed for a long time. Since quantum theory really started to hit the spotlight, New Age gurus flocked in with it. These people have been able to easily sway the minds of a gullible population that wants to find compatibility between science and religion. Dr. Stenger does the world a huge favor by finally addressing the thus far ignored debate and quite throroughly debunks the positions taken by what he calls 'quantum mystics'. He addresses important topics such as Contextuality and it's lack of implications dealing with consciousness, the anthropic coincidences--New Christianity's most recent child, nonlocality, and several other ideas that threaten to skew the interpretation of what physics really is. In his in depth look at the quantum wave function, spacetime, and string theory, he uses engaging rhetoric while still using lay terms making the book a perfect read for anyone interested in the fields of Philosophy, Religion, or Science. The debates between Einstein and Bohr are brought back in a more revealing light and the experiments for everything Stenger addresses are provided to the reader. Not even a physicist is left out as he sets aside equations and discusses them and their implications in depth both philosophically and mathematically while putting them in their own boxes so that even the average reader won't lose the general train of thought. This book is perfect to introduce people to theoretical physics and what physics really means. A good and highly reccommended read that's fun and fast-paced.

Yes, Stenger has always been a good popularizer and researcher. His work is appreciated on this end. He's the one who made the computer simulation showing that the fine-tuning argument is probably irrelevant.

Yeah, I ran that program on a computer at school. It was fun. He also has a bunch of other programs in his appendices(sp?).
