Just thought I'd let you all know I've been lurking for several days now (by announcing this, have I violated the unwritten code of lurkers everywhere? gasp) and I am impressed with what I've seen. I used to be a regular at CollegeClub's forums (mainly in the Atheism section) and as that site has taken a serious turn toward stupidity I've found myself moving on and looking for a community dedicated primarily to discussion of atheism and atheistic issues, but also flexible enough to allow for other topics as well. A place where people are intelligent but not obnoxious about it, and where people seem to get along well, with a laid back atmosphere. This forum seems to have those qualities.
So, I'm just letting you know I'm presently lurking so as to get a better feel for people, styles and topics. I'll probably end up registering.
Oh, I'm an atheist and if I register, I'll introduce myself in the appropriate section and give more details about my background and how I arrived at atheism.
