the board has been quite for a while. so here is something new. someone told me something that i have heard 1000 times. but i guess i just thought about it a little different. what i heard was "jesus was just a man on earth" The christens say that Jesus was a man, but he was the perfect man, one without sin. I have to point out that Jesus was not a man like we all are, If Jesus was without sin, how can he be a man like us? We are born into sin how can you say Jesus was like us if he was not born into sin? Also last time I checked no man can perform miracles. Walk on water, feed many people with two items and bring the dead back to life, just by laying hands on them. How does this make Jesus just a man? In what way was Jesus just a man? We can not resist sinning according to the bible. By the time a baby has taken its first breath from outside the womb it is a sinner in gods’ eyes. Jesus was never a sinner in Gods eyes. Jesus was not equal to us in everyway. He was still a god on earth. He did godly things here on earth that we can not. He was not 100% human like we are. How is he any measure of the way we should be? I’m sure the Christens will say I’m missing a point abut something; I want to know what it is. So please let me know how Jesus was just a man. So if Jesus did godly things on earth (perform miracles) and he never sinned, or in gods eyes was ever a sinner then how was he human? and for the ones that thought i was going to say that jesus was a girl by the title of this all i can say is hahahaha. and sorry to disapoint.

Well the person who told you that Jesus was just a man doesn't sound like a Christian...
This board has been rather quiet; I hope I had nothing to do with that. Okay, you can all come back now.

Well Necro.
(Bear with me because I know you don't believe in the Christian God but this is the only way I can explain this to you.)
The Bible said that Jesus was without sin and it also says that those how believe can do everything that Jesus did. That means that believers should be-able to heal this sick, raise the dead and walk on water. There are also accounts in the bible that say the believers did those things. So just because Jesus could do that doesn't mean he isn't human. Still he was more that just a man.
According the the Christian faith all of those abilities are received from the power of god.

Good point guerrillasaint, Glad someone wants to chat about this. I have heard the same thing. And how others was able to heal the sick. My point is that man is born into sin and they are sinners from birth. The act of being born is enough to make you a sinner. Being that jesus was never a sinner means that he is not equal to us. He was above all other men in that way. Now I have said this to someone and they basically said what you did. Except for the part that all men could do the same thing. They forget, or just don’t know that part of the bible. My point is jesus was a god on earth and used his godly power. How else could he do the things he did? Come back from the dead and walk on water, among others. People want to believe what they want. That is the problem with the bible and religion. The covenant thing is when you present a contradiction about this people just ignore it. Even to the point that they will admit, for the most part that they chose to ignore it.

we may be born into sin but when we accept Jesus we have the same connection with god that Jesus had. So those who believe have the same power, and Jesus even said the we will be able to do more than he did.
The act of being born doesn't make you a sinner. The first time you do something that is against God's will makes you a sinner.

That is a good question and I don't have an answer for you. All I know is that believers can do it.

guerrillasaint, if you know you can walk on water please go get a video camera and tape yourself doing it. Post it here and then you will be able to prove us wrong. and as far as the bible being hear say. it is. jesus never left any written record everything that is in the bible was written about 100 years after jesus died. How can that NOT be hear say?

Guerrillasaint Jesus not only never left any record but he never stated that he was the son of God. He did not even tell his disciples that he was. I know he did not because then Paul would never have been able to say what he said to the Corinthians: if Jesus was not the son of God we are all fools.
oh yes and why would you need to walk on water? you would have no more use of boats. Oh and if you were capable of that you could heal the sick which of course needs no explanation why you would need to do that. Also you could do the water into wine trick which would make you fabulous at partys.
