But look at it this way: if God had failed to flood the world, those same children who died in the Flood would have grown up and become evil just like their parents. So in a sense, allowing the children to die was an act of mercy on them, and they probably went to heaven, whereas they wouldn't have otherwise.
You say we have free will but when it comes to a story in the bible like this you say that the people will become evil any way. How can this be? We have free will and we all have the chance to ask for forgiveness but you say the people are going to be evil no matter what. See the story only works when you look at it like this. But if you apply the same free will and the ability to ask for forgiveness like you do to us then the story gets more muddy. So either we have free will or we don’t. in the story people are damned because they are the children of evil people and they have no chance to be good. See how that smacks in the face of everything you tell us about god being good and patent?
Animals aren't even moral creatures, so they don't deserve good or bad.
So why would they have to die? Why are they so evil that they had to die along with the humans?
Not in the least! Children are innocent, and even the Bible makes this clear:
Stop contradicting yourself.
The world was morally worse then than it is today; much of the same evils were being done, but they were more widespread.
How? What worse could they have been doing that we don’t do?
We kill children in the womb from abortion, that didn’t happen back then.
We harbor child molesters in church now. Preachers are found ripping off the flock. We have so many people worshiping many more gods now than ever before. So again what was they doing that was so bad that we don’t do now?
But this is not relevant. Just because "the church" protects child molesters doesn't mean that the God of the Bible approves of it. The Bible is completely oppposed to the church protecting child molesters (and so am I):
But if the bible says that and the church is to go by the bible then why does this happen? How long will god allow this to happen? I can not think of ANYTHING that is worse than that. can you?
